Music Theory

Dynamics  are alterations in the volume of a piece of music

  • p or piano, meaning "soft" sounds.
  • f or forte, meaning "loud" sounds.

You can understand it whit this example:

The pulse is the beat in a piece of music.

The tempo of a piece of music is the speed of the beat.
  • Presto – very, very fast.
  • Andante – at a walking pace.
  • Lento – slowly.
What tempo do you think this violinist play?

Timbre is what makes a particular musical sound. You can click on this link below and listen or experiment with many different instruments and their sounds.
